Garden Maintenance:
Dust off the lawn mower and dig it out of the garden shed. skilfully -manicured lawns are given an edge and tell buyers that you pay attention to small details. Diagonally mowed lawns make your lawn appear larger, so be sure to cut in that pattern. You’ll also want to use a weed killer and get along the edges of your garden, driveway and walkways. Be sure to rake the lawn, clean up dead leaves and debris on your lawn, and trim the bushes. Don’t let overgrown vegetation block the windows or path to the entrance. Cutting bushes and tree branches will let the sun inside and showcase the exterior of your home.
Purchase some plants/Flowers Yellow flowers specifically stimulate buying urges. After a long winter, everybody is anxious to see the first signs of spring appearing. Yellow tulips and daffodils induce feelings of happiness and contentment. Arrange containers in groups of three or five near the entrance.
Wash those windows. Washing your windows completely and polishing all the mirrors is essential. A potential buyer may not realize why your home seems so inviting but will feel drawn to it if the windows are spotless and your mirrors reflect sunlight. Cleaning is the first step to setting a good impression! And first impressions last!
Clean Drapery Send your window coverings to the dry cleaners or wash, dry, and press them. Toss blinds into a soapy bathtub for a quick wash. Get rid of all accumulated dust and spider webs. Crisp linens and a springtime breeze through the windows invite the season inside.
Set Out Fresh Flowers Fresh flowers and natural scents are more appealing than artificial. Clever home staging brings colour and fragrance indoors. Even air fresheners and diffusers can give a really lovely fragrance.
Clean Floors Your hardwood floors should be refinished, if necessary. Make your ceramic and linoleum floors twinkle and shine, and thoroughly clean all floor rugs.
Place Outdoor Mat and Umbrella Stand No matter where you live, spring weather is often unpredictable. It can be boiling one day and snowing the next. If it’s raining, give buyers a place to put umbrellas and wipe their feet before entering your home. Some sellers lay down plastic runners across floors for protection or even plastic shoe covers.
Tidy Up make sure you have spruced the place up, by making it as neat and tidy as possible. Plump those cushions, refold the frows and pop those toys in the cupboard. Think show home!

Moving day always seems to approach very quickly, we can very overwhelmed, very quickly when thinking about all the belongings that you own that need to be packed, or maybe you have left it to last minute?. Rather than rushing and risking damaging your stuff, follow these tips to be get all your belongings safely to your new home.

1. Labeling the Boxes Correctly

Labeling the boxes correctly will save so much time. Don’t just write the contents of the box on one side of the box, place it in multiple areas so you can read it when other boxes or items may be in the way. It might be a little time consuming now, but it will be easier to identify what is in the box and what room it needs to when your taking it into your new house.

2. Packing and Moving by Room

Packing boxes by room will make it easier to keep these boxes together in the moving vehicle as well as unloading them all together into the appropriate room in the new house. You feel less overwhelmed packing one room at a time. Packing room by room also eliminates the chance that you will be mixing items from different rooms in the same boxes.

3. Using the Right Boxes and Packing Paper

Used cardboard boxes from the supermarket are usually un sturdy and cause damage to your items. Used boxes might be damaged or have spills inside, attracting all sorts of bugs into your home. Newspaper can run and leave stains on your belongings, only use plain packing paper and sturdy plastic storage boxes to keep your belongings safe until they arrive at their destination.

4. Filling the Boxes to the Top

Your boxes need to be full to the top to prevent more boxes being unnecessarily used and more space being taken up and also if a box is not full to the top any boxes put on top can crush the half empty box underneath.

5. Leaving Linens and Clothing Alone

Leave clothes in drawers or wardrobe to save space and also adds protection to the clothes whilst moving! If you can leave the wardrobe standing then like cello tape the doors to keep them shut during the move.

Happy moving!

Summer has finally arrived! It’s time to pack your suitcases and jet off to an exotic island. But for many of us, summer also brings sun exposure, ice cream, hay fever and other irritating issues, It is so important to look after ourselves in the sun. Luckily we have put together top ten tips for staying happy and healthy this summer, keep these in mind and enjoy yourself this summer!

Wear your SPF!

It is important to use a sun lotion of at least SPF 30 – even better, 50 – in order to protect your skin from harmful UV rays. For sensitive skin, a mineral-based sunscreen is best. Try not to sit in the sun in peak hours between 10am and 4pm in order to minimise UV radiation, but of you are planning to be out in the sun for a long period of time, reapply suncream every two hours or immediately after swimming. Remember to use a facial sunscreen, too – just because there’s SPF in your makeup, does not mean you are protected!

Drink plenty of water

During the hot summer months, heat and sweat can leave your body dehydrated. Always keep a cool bottle of water with you throughout the day to prevent this from happening, try adding some slices of cucumber or lemon to add a fresh flavour.

Beware of ‘healthy’ smoothies

Fruit smoothies are a great way to get keep refreshed throughout the summer, but watch out for smoothies made with frozen yoghurts, ice cream or too much fruit, as they’re loaded with hidden calories! Try a green smoothie, made with fruit and vegetables, still delicious but does not contain as half as much sugar.

Exfoliate

Summer means an increase of dead skin cells so it is important to exfoliate your skin to keep it smooth and glowing. You don’t need to buy any expensive products simply make your own exfoliation lotion using a handful of oatmeal, milk and yoghurt.

Tackle hay fever

Hay fever sufferers can have an unbearable time in the summer. Make sure you vacuum your home regularly to get rid of excess pollen in the air and make sure to wash wash and have a change of clothes when coming in from outdoors. Sadly there’s no miracle cure, but ask your pharmacy to stock up on anti-histamine products and nasal sprays. Streaming eyes? Sunglasses are your savior!

Keep up the exercise regime

Before those running shoes disappear off the face of the earth into your wardrobe, remember your exercise routine doesn’t have to stop because of the rising temperature and beaming sunshine. On very hot days, change your exercise plan and take it indoors. Take a class, or try a workout DVD. It will do you no favors to work out in the beaming sunshine, but when its a cooler day there’s nothing stopping you going out for a run or bike ride. Remember take plenty of water and wear SPF!

Get swimming!

Why not try a summer dip at your local pool or summer lilo?, a 30-minute swimming session will burn almost 400 calories! If swimming laps isn’t your thing, you could try a water aerobics class.

Protect your hair

Avoid heat styling! Our hair suffers enough in the summer. Constant heat, sun damage and chlorine can cause a lot of damage to our hair and can leave it feeling flat and dull after the holidays. Use a decent shampoo to remove the chlorine and any excess product or sun cream, then use a conditioning treatment or hair mask to add moisture back in.

Eat well by the pool

When being in the sites of the beaming sunshine, the idea of scoffing ice cream is seriously tempting. We all deserve treats every now and then but coming prepared with a healthy lunch and snacks will mean you get the nutrition you need, try a scrumptious summer salad or pasta and plenty of fruit and vegetables! Do not forget your water!

Take up a new hobby

Summer is the perfect time to take up a new activity. Gardening is a great summer hobby to take up, its therapeutic, keeps your outdoors and you even burn some calories! Or if you really want to feel the stretch try yoga!
